Randall D. Grayson
Bio
Randall Grayson is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer. He is a founding memver of the firm and has been with DGL since 2013. He began his practice in Georgia at Alston & Bird, one of the largest law firms in the country. Over the years, he has represented individuals, businesses, executives, and workers in a wide variety of cases and has tried several different lawsuits to successful jury verdicts.
Randy grew up in Georgia. He graduated from Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County. He is a 1991 graduate of Emory University and graduated from Duke Law School, cum laude in 1994. He also earned his Masters in History in 1994, while at Duke University Graduate School. He applies his background in American history to his legal practice by analyzing each case not just on its merits, but also on the social and historical value brought about by advocacy for his clients.
Randy is a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of the Litigation and Employment Law sections of the State Bar of Georgia. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Georgia. He has successfully argued appellate cases in the federal 11th Circuit appellate court as well as the Georgia Court of Appeals. Randy has served his community as a past member of the Georgia Council of Developmental Disabilities, the Human Rights Committee of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, ESP Atlanta Champion Board Member, and a former board member of the Autism Society of America Greater Georgia Chapter.
He has experience with personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability and automobile accident cases. He has also litigated business disputes ranging from breach of contract claims to claims for equitable relief and injunctions.
His experience includes litigating employment discrimination and employee benefits matters. He has achieved multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients, including the largest employment discrimination verdict in Georgia in 2012. He won this verdict on behalf of a female executive claiming unequal pay and sex discrimination. He covers the full range of employment issues in the workplace. Randy has litigated or advised his clients in cases involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, hostile work environments, sexual harassment, and retaliation, ensuring compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He has litigated claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, including collective actions, involving overtime payments, minimum wages, and worker misclassification. Randy also has years of experience with ERISA compliance and litigating claims for benefits under ERISA welfare plans, long term disability benefits, retirement plans, medical benefits, COBRA compliance, cafeteria plans, and other employee benefits.
Randy’s background and experience brings a wealth of knowledge into every case he litigates. He is a valuable member of the firm’s litigation team, heads the firm’s motions practice, and is a seasoned trial lawyer.
